I resolved to take out the finish from the top and refinish it so I would not paint around people very inlays.

This was an previous bottle of Citristrip when it actually used to work definitely effectively.

I assumed I needed to stain it this color… (water-dependent stain)

NOPE! I swiftly wiped that back off.

Then I assumed I’d whitewash it…

Nope! Ha! I did not like that either. Off arrived that as properly.

I allow it dry overnight and determined to go with oil-centered stain as a substitute.
I applied a pre-stain to start with, then Antique Walnut, wiping back again nicely, then Common Grey in excess of that, also wiping back.

And WOW, it arrived out the fantastic shade!

I painted the base white with a little bit of distressing.
